Electrical heating systems with cast aluminium heating shells are used with higher temperatures up to 450 °C. This generally always applies if the heating output to be supplied by the heating lines is no longer sufficient due to the small geometric dimension and the often awkward shape of the plant part that requires heating. The use of a cast aluminium heating shell can result in a technically faultless and satisfactory solution here. The heating shells are usually two or three-part by design and are precisely tailored to the plant part requiring heating through the use of a model impression. In this way it is possible to deliver the required heating power via a heating resistor cast in the aluminium and this is emitted via the heating shell surfaces. Measuring probes of type PT100 are fitted for temperature control and monitoring. It is also possible to use the cast aluminium heating shells for applications in Ex zones with the requisite connection technology.
